Shaan Syed

Shaan Syed was born in Toronto, Canada and lives in London, UK. He graduated from Goldsmiths College in 2007.  Syed has presented solo shows at Bradley Ertaskiran (Montreal), Vardaxoglou (London), Sundy (London), Galeria Nuno Centeno (Porto), Kunsthalle Winterthur (Winterthur), among others. Syed has participated in group exhibitions at The Power Plant (Toronto), Aga Khan Museum (Toronto), Nicodim Gallery (Los Angeles), and the Roberts Institute of Art (London).

He is the recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award (2013), and Arts Council of England and Canada Council for the Arts Grants. His work is part of the collections of the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), Modern Forms (London), Goldsmiths College (London), Collection Majudia (Montreal), the Royal Bank of Canada, TD Canada Trust, BMO Bank of Montreal, Bank of America and UBS Union Bank of Switzerland. He is represented by Bradley Ertaskiran in Canada and Vardaxoglou in London.
